The brief

An architect working on a marine activity centre on the seafront needed levels for a flood risk assessment. Flood levels are published against Ordnance Survey datum, so every height had to be tied to it.

How we surveyed it

We used GNSS RTK to bring Ordnance Survey datum onto site and total stations to pick up ground, floor and threshold levels around the building.

Site challenges

The site sits on a tidal seafront next to a busy road. We planned the work around the tide and kept equipment set up clear of traffic.

What the client received

A level drawing to OS datum that the flood risk consultant could compare directly with published flood levels.
