Laser scanning across London

London buildings are rarely simple. Decades of alterations, irregular walls and complex junctions make traditional measurement slow and risky. A 3D laser scan captures everything at once, so your design team can take any measurement they need, long after we have left site.

We use FARO laser scanners, from the S70 for high-accuracy static scans to the Orbis for mobile SLAM scanning of large or busy spaces. The scans are registered into a single point cloud, tied to the Ordnance Survey grid where the project needs it.

What we deliver

Point cloud only deliveries are usually ready within 5 working days. Drawings and models typically follow 7 to 14 working days after the final scan visit.

We recently approached THS Concepts to carry out a level survey of the screed to the ground floor of a large residential property we were Project Managing. The property was undergoing extensions and refurbishment work. We had a tight timescale to receive the information, and THS Concepts delivered quickly and efficiently to meet our deadline. This is the second time we have used them and would highly recommend.

3D laser scanning in London: common questions

What do I get from a 3D laser scan?

A registered point cloud of the building or structure, and, if you need them, 2D CAD plans, sections and elevations or a BIM model built from the scan.

How much does 3D laser scanning cost in London?

A point cloud only starts from £600 plus VAT, and scan plus 2D CAD drawings or a scan to BIM model starts from £1,000 plus VAT. We are happy to quote against your specification.

Can you scan occupied buildings?

Yes. Scanning is fast and non-invasive, and our handheld SLAM scanner is ideal for busy or awkward spaces. We plan the visit around occupants and working hours.
