Project Scope
Our surveying team was instructed to undertake a topographical survey to record the boundaries and existing foundation positions of a new build site in Leigh-on-Sea, Essex. This particular survey was undertaken on a lovely sunny day, excellent for the morale! Our view from the site over the River Thames was exceptional, in the background of the picture you can see Canvey Island to the top right and Kent further afield.
The beautiful view from the site!
The site itself was fairly tricky to navigate around due to the fact it was on a steep hill leading up into Leigh town centre. Meanwhile, the hill and additional vegetation meant that our surveyor had to take extra care in positioning setting out points around the site. Our equipment was a Leica TS02 total station combined with our GSO8 GPS Equipment.
This project was surveyed in 6 hours before returning the short distance to the office to draw it all up. Following the survey, we produced detailed plan drawings of the site as well as a long section through to illustrate the lay of the land. The survey assisted the construction team and helped verify the position of the foundations, which helped to ensure that the prefabricated frame that sat on top fitted correctly.
