Walking 100,000 Steps to Help Critically Ill Babies

On Friday 21st June, team members from Southend based businesses THS Concepts, Sculpt 3D, and Rocket Growth will be stepping up to raise money for critically ill newborns. Their mission is to walk 100000 steps (roughly 46 miles) from Leigh on Sea to Shoeburyness and back, all in the space of one day.

Supporting a Cause Close to Home

The challenge, called Southendurance, begins at 3:00 AM and finishes just before midnight. It is all in aid of the Ickle Pickles charity, which supports neonatal units across the UK by funding vital life saving equipment.

Seb Coombs of THS Concepts shared:

“We’re proud to support such a vital cause, which is so close to our heart. The Ickle Pickles charity does incredible work. It is something our family has experienced first hand.”

Why Ickle Pickles?

Each year, over 90000 babies are born sick or prematurely in the UK. Ickle Pickles is the only charity solely focused on raising money for neonatal intensive care equipment. Since 2009, it has funded over £3.5 million in equipment for more than 50 hospitals.

Kat Khalife from Ickle Pickles commented:

“Their passion and commitment help us provide essential equipment and highlight the urgent needs of premature and sick babies. With their support, we can give every newborn a fighting chance.”

Get Involved

The public is invited to support the walkers and donate to the cause. Every contribution helps give critically ill babies the care they need to survive and thrive.
